The Swiss Study Foundation will serve as the Swiss partner of the Lindau Nobel Laureate Meetings in 2027 and 2028. During the two-year pilot phase, it will work with Swiss universities to coordinate Switzerland’s participation. This will give early-career researchers from across Switzerland access to one of the world’s most renowned international gatherings of Nobel Laureates.

The first meeting within the pilot phase will take place from 27 June to 2 July 2027 and will be dedicated to physiology and medicine. It will bring together early-career researchers from around the world and Nobel Laureates, creating opportunities for academic exchange, personal encounters and international networking.
The nomination procedure is designed to reflect the institutional breadth and excellence of Switzerland as a centre of education and research. Each Swiss university will nominate early-career researchers. Students supported by the Swiss Study Foundation will be able to apply for nomination through an internal selection process. The Lindau Nobel Laureate Meetings will make the final selection from all nominations submitted worldwide.

Since 1951, the Lindau Nobel Laureate Meetings have brought Nobel Laureates together with selected early-career researchers from around the world. Each year, approximately 30 to 40 Nobel Laureates and around 600 young researchers participate. According to the organisers, more than 35,000 young scientists have attended the meetings since 1951.
The partnership with the Lindau Nobel Laureate Meetings reflects the Swiss Study Foundation’s mission to support and guide talented young people and to connect them across disciplinary and linguistic boundaries. It offers early-career researchers from Switzerland a unique opportunity to engage directly with Nobel Laureates and talented researchers from around the world.
