We contribute towards the costs of studying abroad, attending conferences, internships and other projects. With our different scholarships, we help covering a large part of living expenses as well as tuition fees. All of our scholarships, which we provide in cooperation with our funding partners, are excellence scholarships – we support outstanding people and projects.

The Swiss Study Foundation is principally a network for nonmaterial encouragement. Only a fraction of our students benefit from financial support. Only students who have successfully passed the selection procedure for admission to the Swiss Study Foundation are allowed to submit grant proposals.* Interest in financial aid or financial needs are not sufficient reasons for being admitted to our program. Please make sure that you fulfill our requirements and are interested in participating at our events as well as in our network.
* Exceptions: The Mercator Fellowships on International Affairs as well as the Göhner Fellowship for Artists in Formation and the Göhner Fellowship for Instructors in Formation.

Annual Scholarship
For all disciplines. For studying or conducting research abroad for a period of one or two years. Only awarded internally.

Mercator Fellowship
For all disciplines. For graduates with some initial professional experience, especially in the fields of foreign and security policy, international economic and financial relations, and technical and scientific development-based cooperation. 4 fellowships per year, open to all Swiss citizens.

For all disciplines except for arts/design. To finance a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree at a Swiss university, including up to 3 semesters studying abroad. 10 scholarships per year that are only awarded internally.
